Please join us for a panel discussion with artist Jeremy Okai Davis who has spent the last two years working on portraits of Oregon Black Pioneers. Commissioned by the Salem Art Association, six out of ten have been completed so far. The conversation will explore Okai Davis’s own research and process and discuss how the project came to be realized. The panel conversation participants are:

Following the panel, attendees are welcome to view the exhibition Black Artists of Oregon with free admission. We invite you to view one of the commissioned portraits in person featured in Black Artists of Oregon, on loan from the Salem Art Association, The Advocate, depicts a portrait of Beatrice Morrow Cannady (1889-1974).
