What is Linocut Printing?
Lino refers to linoleum. Artists use a carvable rubber-like pad and cutting tools with different shapes. Using a combination of lines and depth you will learn how to carve an image, and then how to apply printing ink to the image with a brayer (roller), and use professional printing presses to make your print. This process is a modern version of traditional woodcut prints, and can be used to make many copies of a single print image.

What is Monotype Printing?
This process feels similar to painting. Ink is selectively applied to a plastic plate and manipulated to create any image you like. It is then run through the printing press to make a print. You will learn how to make multiple passes and build layers. This process is known for its ability to create one of a kind artworks using printmaking processes.
Cost: $30 per session, or $50 for both sessions.
Please consider making a donation with your registration to help support art education in our community.
