The Arts & History Immersion Project annually provides a unique educational experience to more than 1,000 underserved fourth-grade students attending some of the most challenged Title I schools in Marion, Polk, and Yamhill counties.
The project gives students the opportunity to participate in field trips to the Bush House Museum, view an art exhibit in the Bush Barn Art Center, and engage in relevant hands-on art activities. The activities are not only fun for students but help teachers enhance their curriculums by supporting state standards. For 76% of students, the Arts & History Immersion Project is their first visit to a history museum or an art gallery.
The 2017-2018 Arts & History Immersion Project is funded through the generous support of the Bush House Museum Endowment, the Marion Cultural Development Corporation, the Oregon Cultural Trust, the PGE Foundation, the Salem Art Association, the Salem Foundation, and the Walton Charitable Trust.
