This series of memoir writing workshops will enable you to tell your story in a powerful and impactful way. We will cover story structure, common writing errors, create engaging scenes, and learn how to transform conversations into written dialogue. You will be able to share your work for group discussion and/or receive individual feedback from the instructor.
Picture This: Portraits for Veterans and Their Families

When you see a portrait, do you ever imagine a subject’s story? What life events did they experience that led to the capturing of the image? Veterans and their families are invited to create a portrait with a professional photographer, capturing your story.

A Different War: Vietnam in Art

What was the impact of the Vietnam War on contemporary art? Visual art provided a cathartic outlet for Vietnam veterans in the late 1980s to express their experience. In this lecture, award-winning curator and art historian John Olbrantz will discuss his exhibition, A Different War: Vietnam in Art, one of the first efforts to collect and display artwork created by Vietnam veterans.
All events will be held at the Bush Barn Art Center Annex, and are free and open to the public. Priority will be given to veterans and their family members.
