77th Salem Art Fair & Festival T-shirt Contest

The Salem Art Association invites community members to create an original T-shirt design for the 77th annual Salem Art Fair & Festival!

Selected finalists will be featured in a public vote, and the winning design will be produced as the official 2026 Festival T-shirt.

Welcome and artist introductions at 6:00 P.M.

Jew& is an exhibition that challenges expectations about who Jewish artists are and the duality of the Jewish experience. Created and curated by Jessica Rehfield for the Salem Art Association, the exhibition brings together the work of 25 Jewish artists, authors, musicians, poets, and performers from the Willamette Valley in a two-month exploration of contemporary Jewish identity.

MY THIRD CHILDHOOD | LIMEI LAI

May 1 – June 28, 2026 | Camas Gallery

Limei Lai combines mixed media art, writing, and projection to reflect on her life between two cultures. She is curious about how history, memories and art inform one another. This body of work translates her findings in Asian American history research and Asian immigrant women interviews, focusing on women’s life experiences, intergenerational communications, and cultural conflicts.

The act of preserving one’s culture, traditions and language is a form of resilience and celebration. Past, present, future, displacement, belonging and memory lived and experienced through an immigrant lens, are themes we hope to explore in this body of work. Art has served as a window and portal to stay connected to our roots, traditions and family. Our hope is that this work will invite you to connect with your own windows of memories.

MAKEUP ARTISTRY: IT’S NOT JUST POWDER AND LIPSTICK, YOU KNOW! | SCOTT RAMP

May 1 – June 28, 2026 | Focus Gallery

Makeup Artistry encompasses every aspect for the film actor, from basic powder and cosmetics to the most detailed special effects imaginable. Scott Ramp is a Salem native who worked in the industry in Los Angeles for 40 years and currently provides his products for large-scale Halloween events in amusement parks around the world. Come enjoy the Special Effects world and feel free to touch the displays of some of Scott’s work.

SUMMER ART CAMPS! | SIX SESSIONS!

Each week is different and offers high-quality opportunities for youth to learn about Art and Art History in a nurturing environment at the Salem Art Association (SAA). All camps take place at the Bush Barn Art Center & Annex in Salem's Bush's Pasture Park.

Monday 6/15 – Thursday 6/18 ~ art theme: Time Machine
Monday 6/29 – Thursday 7/2 ~ art theme: Around the World
Monday 6/22 – Friday 6/26 ~ art theme: Flower Power
Monday 7/6 – Friday 7/10 ~ art theme: Animal Kingdom

Scholarships available!

Each week has two sessions: the morning session is for kids 8-10 years old and will last from 9 a.m. to noon. Afternoon sessions are for kids 11-13 years old and run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
