About the Artist

Sabra Comins is a literary and visual artist who is passionate about maintaining a sustainable studio practice.  She views her work as an ecosystem where many facets, such as family history, interactions with nature, and art mediums are all living components within a larger system.  She delights in combining natural materials, like beeswax, plant-based paints, and wool with watercolors, ink, and colored pencils.  Sabra published A Glimpse Within, a chapbook of letters, during her artist-in-residency with The Arts Center in Corvallis (2020).  She received a Masters in Environmental Management from Portland State University.  She is currently working on a series of book arts that contemplate our changing world.
