Stroll By Exhibit Series: Ann Kresge

Kresge’s work is concerned with a sense of place. She is fascinated by people’s connection to geography.  Rock formations, caves, canyons, earth’s rims and edges compel her. She thinks about ideas, forces and people gathering and dispersing. A contemporary printmaker and book artist she thinks in paper, pattern, series, sequence. layers and interiors. In The Stroll By Art Show, “Pop Up Books and Prints”, currently in  SAA’s Annex Gallery, her artists’ books, prints, paintings and text explore liminal spaces and the crossing of boundaries and borders.

Kresge is an internationally exhibited artist whose work is in many collections including: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The National Museum of Women In The Arts, The Victoria and Albert Museum, Yale University, New York Public Library and the US Library of Congress.  She has been an Artist-In-Residence at Ucross Foundation, Playa,  VSC, Djerassi, MacDowell Colony, ‘ace Buenos Aires, Atelier 17 Paris, Women’s Studio Workshop NY and others. Ann has been a Library Fellow at The National Museum of Women In the Arts and a Teaching Artist at Sitka Center. She has a BA in Studio Art from Smith College and MFA in Printmaking from Pratt Institute.  Ann splits time between Salem, OR  and Santa Fe, NM.

The ‘Stroll By Exhibit Series’ is located in the windows and doors of SAA’s Bush Barn Art Center and Annex to activate our location while we are closed to the public.
