Workshop led by SAA Artist-In-Residence Corrine Loomis Dietz
Monotype is a unique process in which you combine painting and printmaking techniques to create a “one of a kind” image. Corrine will guide you in creating the painterly print using the new Golden OPEN acrylics and Gel Plates. We’ll explore additive techniques, registering the paper, to develop many layers. This process does not require a press and these techniques can easily be repeated in a simple workspace. Each Print will be hand-rubbed and pulled from the plate to reveal strokes and textures that are unlike anything you can do with a brush. This is a fun and exciting way to generate works on paper with a richness and diversity unlike any other method. OPEN Acrylics are archival and environmentally friendly, with the ease of water cleanup. All materials included.
