Jew& is an exhibition that challenges expectations about who Jewish artists are and the duality of the Jewish experience. Created and curated by Jessica Rehfield for the Salem Art Association, the exhibition brings together the work of 25 Jewish artists, authors, musicians, poets, and performers from the Willamette Valley in a two-month exploration of contemporary Jewish identity. Jew& is the first exhibit of its kind in Oregon to exhibit all Jewish artists in a space outside a Jewish institution, featuring work of 25 Jewish artists, authors, performers and poets from the Willamette Valley region: Ketzia Schoneberg, ahuva zaslavsky, Shoshana Gugenheim Kedem, Stashia Cabral, Shir Grisanti, eddy shuldman and Zalmy Berkowitz are among artists representing a wide range of medium and message, from sculpture and installation to printmaking, painting and video–alongside pieces by award-winning musicians, poets and performers during a two-month long expression of what it means to be a Jew…&.
