Rich is creating portraits in paint, a study of the figure. Sometimes begun in person, or using photographic images taken by himself, or borrowed from friends, he looks to understand and reflect the person he is painting by incorporating other objects within the work. Rich works on paintings of various sizes, color, and black and white
