Call for Artists opportunities for the Bush Barn Art Center and the Annex take place throughout the year. See below for a current list of ways to get your art out into the world through the Salem Art Association.
Juried exhibitions are those where art is selected according to merit by a juror or jurors. In Non-Juried exhibitions all art is accepted as long as it meets the criteria of the call for artists.
FRACTALS OF IDENTITY (JURIED)
The Salem Art Association (SAA) seeks artists to participate in Fractals of Identity, an exhibition in the Annex at the Bush Barn Art Center. LGBTQ+ focused, this exhibition will explore how we come to understand our personal identity, from our sexuality to our gender identity, and beyond. Applications are due Friday, February 23.
YOUNG ARTISTS’ SHOWCASE (NON-JURIED)
The Salem Art Association (SAA) invites K-12 schools and youth organizations in Marion, Polk, and Yamhill Counties to participate in our annual exhibition of student creativity. The exhibition will take place in the A.N. Bush Gallery, the largest exhibition space at the Bush Barn Art Center from March 10-April 21. Artwork drop-off dates are Friday-Sunday, March 2-4 from Noon-5 pm.
The Salem Art Association is offering several categories as part of the 2018 Artist-in-Residence (AIR) program in the newly renovated Annex at the Bush Barn Art Center. Residency offers a dedicated studio space for artist(s) to experiment, and create new work.
RENTAL SALES PROGRAM & GIFT GALLERY (JURIED)
The Rental-Sales Program and the Gift Gallery of the Salem Art Association (SAA) are consignment venues at the Bush Barn Art Center for local, regional, and Pacific Northwest artists to display, rent and sell their work. There is no fee to submit work for consideration.
CALL FOR GUEST CURATORS (JURIED)
The Salem Art Association invites professionally affiliated and independent guest curators to submit proposals for exhibitions to be held in the A.N Bush Gallery at the Bush Barn Art Center. Exhibitions are typically in six to eight week increments. There is no fee to submit work for consideration.
