YOUNG ARTISTS’ SHOWCASE PARTICIPANTS

Now in its 16th year, the Young Artists’ Showcase has grown into a highly anticipated event for K-12 students, teachers, and parents in Marion, Polk and Yamhill counties. The exhibit features artwork by hundreds of students at the Bush Barn Art Center.

When students participates in a Young Artists’ Showcase, they gain a stronger sense of self-expression, connect with a creative community, and are inspired to keep exploring artistic problem-solving and self-discovery. This is always one of our most popular exhibitions and one you won’t want to miss!

THE SILVER LINING | HEIDI PREUSS GREW

Encounters on any given day have always provided inspiration -- fleeting moments in time
especially so. Instead of responding with a drawing or a figure modeled in clay, the physicality of those moments (when I could gather them) are presented for closer inspection by the viewer. These fragments converge toward a description with potency. They often surprised me with joy and hope.

FAVORITE THINGS II | JASON HILL

NOVEMBER 8, 2024 – JUNE 29, 2025 | BUSH HOUSE MUSEUM AMERICA WALDO BOGLE GALLERY

Favorite Things is a portrait and short film series depicting regional artists with items that are precious to them. Developed by Portland filmmaker and photographer Jason Hill, this work documents a collaboration wherein artists were instructed to share and speak about a favorite item in a studio setting. The results are an experiment with light and color to create magical portraits and filmed testimonials
