This body of work titled In My Skin celebrates Black cultural identity, African ancestry, and the contemporary lived experience of the community in Portland, through dynamic lighting, saturated color, and portraiture. I wanted to keep things spontaneous and lively but also be very precise with my lighting to show depth in the image as well as in the person.

Kristin Kuhns is an artist whose work includes two-dimensional and three-dimensional mixed media, paintings, drawings, clay vessels, and sculptures.

Favorite Things is a portrait and short film series depicting regional artists with items that are precious to them. Developed by Portland filmmaker and photographer Jason Hill, this work documents a collaboration wherein artists were instructed to share and speak about a favorite item in a studio setting. The results are an experiment with light and color to create magical portraits and filmed testimonials
You are invited to an SAA members shopping experience and Open Museum at the Bush House Museum. Both events are free and open to the public.
Members receive a 25% discount at the galleries on all items over $10.
The Salem Art Association is offering several categories as part of the 2025 Artist-in-Residence (AIR) program in the Annex at the Bush Barn Art Center. This residency offers a dedicated studio space for artist(s) to experiment and create new work.

Calling all artists! Applications for the 76th Annual Salem Art Fair & Festival, taking place September 12-14, 2025, are officially live on Zapplication. This is your chance to be a part of one of the Pacific Northwest’s most celebrated art events! The Salem Art Fair is a vibrant community celebration that draws thousands of supporters of the arts each year.
Early Bird Deadline: February 17, 2025 (Get $10 off your application with the code: "76Years")
Final Deadline: June 6, 2025 (No exceptions, so mark your calendars!)
Bush Barn Art Center will be closed for the holiday between November 28 to December 3, 2025.
The Bush Barn Art Center & Annex are open to the public Wednesday - Sunday, noon to 4:00 p.m.
